Butterfly Pose or Baddaha Konasana

Butterfly pose is a good way to relax the body and mind after the alligator pose, which can get kids pretty active and excited. It helps to restore and calm the mind, while also preparing kids for the next pose.

Butterfly pose supports and stretches the hips, groin, and inner thighs while strengthening your back.

  1. Come to a sitting position with your spine straight and your legs in front of you.

  2. Next, bend your knees and bring the soles of your feet together, allowing your knees to fall out to either side. Usually, kids can reach the floor with their knees.

  3. Now we are ready to fly. Check your spine and sit up tall.

  4. Take a deep breath, bringing your knees up as you inhale, then letting them back downward as you exhale. Focus on moving only your knees. All movements should be slow and fluid, as though your knees are a set of wings.

  5. You can also sing: “Fly like a butterfly up so high” as you do this exercise. To come out of the pose, bring your knees together, then stretch them out in front of you.
